THE SOLAR ECLIPSE 2026
MY SPIRITUAL JOURNEY
Our Ancestors the Wihtwara, Meonwara, Cantwara, Danes and Norsemen saw the Eclipse as Ragnarok, the ending of the world. The Moon devoured the Sun. Whether this was originated from monks with pens to herd the people towards a one-god religion is open to debate. But in my personal experience, in this case, my ancestors saw a truth.
For the first time I will share with you 'my nightmare'.
I was a young 'rebel' Art teacher in a middle school and I was dedicated to not following the curriculum. The kids called me Miss H, the senior staff huffed and puffed, intent on blowing my house down!!! when the school national curriculum caught up and Native American culture was added, the green light came on and I was ecstatic.
Not too many days after that I was given the most lucid dream......my nightmare.
I was standing on top of Arreton Down looking down into the valley. At night. Beside me was a man with a huge telephoto camera. Suddenly a spotlight came alive, so very bright, circling a spot on the valley floor. A huge Native American tipi appeared with full ancient symbols painted on the buffalo hide. I turned to this photographer asking him to take a photograph.
My vision was then turned .......the Earth was being destroyed. Her 'skirts' were melting away leaving just a third intact.
The feeling overwhelmed me because it was a human destruction. I was being told, "This is YOU!!!!! You are responsible." I took on the whole feeling of this total human destruction landing directly at my feet. I couldn't hold it. It was far too much. I begged for it to be taken away.
Then, so slowly and calmly with a feeling of peace and love surrounding the motion, the earth came to meet the sun and moon and ascended together. This is everything. This is our ascension. With love. We can achieve this. The symbol of the seahorses shown in the sky in Africa holds it all, with the Eclipse.
The nightmare repeated three times: In the end on the third morning I simply shouted 'What do you want me to do?!'
A voice so loud and clear replied: 'You are a teacher, teach the children the Ways of the Earth'.
Little Turtle Island was born on that third day
We got together with a wilderness skills expert and started a project we called ‘Little Turtle Island.’ It began with just a few children, but eventually built to 33 children, each of whom learned ancient wilderness skills and spirituality together.
We held a camp each year, for the four years; and in the fourth year, we held a ‘rites of passage’ ceremony with four of the children.
He was a wonderful man, and he will always be remembered. Sweat lodges and vision quests happened during that forth year, and I think, all in all, it changed the lives of many of the children who participated.
